It was actually my birthday on tuesday, which I managed to totally forget. Apparently this is the age when you stop caring exactly what day it's on, a party feels more important than the day, though it was nice to get texts from family then. And some emails and ljs from friends. And one email from Ex=Jane.

X. Youngest player goes first.
All: *looks around, trying not to make insulting assumptions in either direction*
X: Well, it's you or Susan. How old are you?
Me: *Thinks* 24
Susan: Wow, you are older. When's your birthday.
Me: *thinks* Um, today. 24 *precisely*
All: Happy birthday!
Jaq: *sings happy brithday very very quietly*
X: You forgot?
Me: Since I got to twenty four, I stopped caring.
X: You mean, since this morning?
Me: Apparently.
X: Can we get on.
Me: *looks at clock* Not precisely. Yesterday. Nevermind.

That was altered a bit to try to make the funny bits line up. I think it was actually more confusing than that, and the wit wasn't all me. This blog is semi-fictional.

stop caring> must be a bit of a generalisation then, cos I certainly haven't, and it's a long while since I was 24.

Happy Birthday anyway.

*shrug* I'm not entirely serious. Certainly not about 24 specifically. But it seems as most people get older they first stop making a big deal of the actual day, and eventually stop thinking about the birthday at all.

Do you not end up forgetting the day?

Happy Birthday anyway.

Thanks *hgu*

Do you not end up forgetting the day?> nope, or not so far anyway, I celebrated on the day, as well as on the day of the party. Not always something big, but I do make a point of it.

Fiar enough. I was thinking of having a little celebration with close friends, but most weren't here, and don't know each other, and I was too busy to think of it.

In retrospect, I should have taken a cake to games evening.
