And then I couldn't sleep *either*.

Brain: Ooh, I just thought of another good penultima rule.
Me: Oh no. Go to sleep already.
Brain: I should write it down, else I won't know if I remember it.
Me: Please?
Brain: But it needs a name.
Me: HOVERCRAFT! Happy? Can I sleep now?
Braim: Ooh, that's a good one. I just thought of another rule!
Me: Gngh.
Brain: And don't forget, tomorrow we have to [list of stuff categorised into three different text files, plus write a test bed for the code I wrote last week].
Me: I wrote it down. I won't.
Brain: But did you remember it all? TOOTHPASTE! is something also that we have to buy next shopping.
Me: I got that.
Brain: Mushrooms? Gluten-free-"pasta"-suace?
Me: Yes. Yes. Yes. I *checked*.
Brain: Oh. Ok.
*pause*
Me: Can I sleep now?
*pause*
Brain: I thought of something else

Now -- I'm fortunate that I've so rarely found my brain nonfunctioning and also unable to sleep. I don't habitually drink coffee immediately in the morning, nor multiple cups, but I think I need it today.

My brain did that too last night. Except it thought of belly-dancing crocheted Cthulhu.

I may be a little odd.

*hug* There's so many things I'm glad my body doesn't do! I like the icon.

Hmmm. I have too many friends called fluffy-something now :)

I wonder if to-do lists as bedroom wallpaper would help. Or would they make it worse? Brain might make you get up and scribble on them. Though that's better than brain making you get up and go in another room to look for paper and then get up again because the pen has run out and then... er...

m, coffee.

LOL. I do have paper to jot things on. If I can see at a glace everything's written on my lists it's better, but when there's too much I can never remember if I wrote it down or not.

Having the lists on my wall (preferably as flat lcd mirrors of the todo-xxx.txt files on the server) would be ok, but when too much is goign on oppressive :)

Keep a pad and paper by the bed. Offload the thoughts onto the pad. Then your brain doesn't need to try to remember them.

Exactly! That's always my -- and Dave Allen's -- approach to thoughts :) I normally don't need it, but when my brain gets locked into this cycle I fetch a pad and jot everything down as it occurs to me, this does defuse the "what if I forget" problem.

Though sometimes I get carried away. This time I ended writing about 10 new penultima rules, whereas normally I have to scrounge for them whilst people are waiting for me to be ready. Last time I designed most of a simple grvaitational-model puzzle/action game. Time before that -- I don't remember. Probably revising for GCSEs :)

So I went to bed *early* like a Good Naath. And didn't Play Games or Drink Port (because I clearly had an excess of both on Saturday). And my brain would NOT STOP going arround in circles. I didn't even manage anything as interesting as Penultima rules.

(you should have a Mao party, you said you would an' all)

Yes, I was impressed. It's so easy to get delayed by politics and things on your way out. Sorry about the night *hug* I hope it didn't make much difference.

Yeah, I really want to. But I didn't want to have it before you came back to cam :) and it needs to be at a weekend, and several people are often busy on fridays, and last w/e I wasn't sure who'd be back, and next w/e is SW with sonic, and the weekend after is WEDDING and the weekend after is CTS croquet.

So I don't know when :( Do you think people would come on a sunday?

wos sonic doing this weekend?

(I've no idea if people would do Sunday - besides you'd clash with CUSFS)

Weekends are *so hard*!

CSUFS always seems to suffer from bad timing :( And when can they have a storytelling with people at already? :)

wos sonic doing this weekend?

I think vague plans involving starwars DVDs, you would ask her if she is. But /me probably not free for mao either way, it's too late.

Maybe friday after all; I think the busiest thing then is treasure trap which only a few people who probably wouldn't come anyway are at.

After croquet there are four unscheduled saturdays and then the one at the start of may week (playford ball). Maybe I should grab the first one. And I'd like an end of term real party as *well*, I don't know.

Speaking of which -- when are parties in oblivion? There used to be pretty regular gatherings, but I haven't visited you or even seen eidth or nick for aaaaaaages.

Isn't it always? You've got two months to tidy if you want to :)

But I like living on my own, where I'm not pressured to accept either high or low standards of tidyness unless I want to, as nice as having an Edith would be :)
