Party Query
Nov. 7th, 2006 04:40 pmI am considering a christmas party, hopefully on the 18th November (two weeks last saturday). I know a few friends are busy then, does anyone know if that's a particularly bad date (ie. there would be a better one :)).
If it seems ok, I'll invite people (anyone on my friendslist, or anyone I know is likley to be very welcome, even if I don't know you well).

Date: 2006-11-07 07:35 pm (UTC)[grins] That's my booking for that day too. Though that makes me be nearer Cambridge that I would otherwise be. My brain also objects to a party in November being described as `Christmas'. I'm not happy at having been invited to a Chaplaincy Christmas party on 13th December even!
'Tis the season to be commercial

Date: 2006-11-08 05:19 pm (UTC)I think that it's the christmas *term* party. I have a party not oftener than every few months, and wanted something at the end of temr, so I want a label to identify it; if I wanted a party *for christmas* I would aim for late december.
Am I forgiven? At least a little? :)

Date: 2006-11-08 03:05 pm (UTC)I don't know if it's as bad as it sounds -- most people who are busy probably couldn't come anyway. I just haven't heard from anyone I know who *can*. But I'll probably go ahead.

Date: 2006-11-08 05:15 pm (UTC)Oh, ok, go on then. Stats. There's a geek height chart at Relativity. The majority of people are a bit bdsmy when you get to know them, not sure if people tend to swing up or down more. Some are definitely cute, and can probably be persuaded to get off with a beautiful girl with her own boat. There's bound to be *some* lesbian action, I'll expect you to make a token effort at least. There are a couple of people older and/or nice-but-incredibly-forceful.
Though I don't know yet who *can* come. I'll be there :)
