I have some (but not 10) new levels for my winnie-the-pooh flash game, and have gone back to experimenting with live action animation. Hopefully real people for CR and girlfriend, and (creepily) soft toys for the venemous animal characters.

The question is, if I manipulate pooh teddybear with needles to hold his limbs in various running positions for stop-motion photography, is that evil?

Is that why people believe cameras steal their souls, they just haven't broken the fourth wall enough?

I have yet to combine "browser with flash installed" and "ooh, I should try that Pooh game sometime"[1], but someone clicked through my LJ to you and ate an hour of their day (or night) :)

23:58 <sladen> cartesiandaemon's pooh game is evil
23:58 <sladen> it's mostly completeable, but level 11 always ends up with at least 1 ladybird left
23:58 <flurble> it's flash, isn't it? I haven't tried it
23:59 <sladen> it sucked an hour of my time
23:59 <flurble> :D :D

[1] I am also scared by the mentions of violent pooh

Aw, thank you! Both. I still love it when people enjoy it. And I'm pleased to find someone else who found it addictive but doable. An hour is pretty damn good, actually.

Simon assured me he's run it on linux, so it shouldn't be impossible or anything (though I haven't tried the controls).

Yes, violent. It's supposed to be disturbing, I found that interesting and amusing (pooh diving on CR was about the first image I imagined), but it's not saying that's how pooh is -- it's a magic abberation which you're supposed to fix :) But I appreciate some people won't enjoy it.

Level 11 is the sample level showing piglet. Assuming he means level 10, that's supposed to be a hard one, it's the end of the game/the first episode. Which beetle is left? You should be able to figure it out one step at a time.

01:56 <sladen> mmm, just played it all the way through
01:56 <sladen> and finally got rid of the last lady bird on level 10
01:56 <sladen> piglet doesn't seem to be defeatable
01:58 <flurble> go piglet \o/
02:02 <sladen> it would make playing the game alot less stressful if the arrow keys actually worked

I haven't installed flash on my default browser (by choice). I have it separately somewhere ...

Oh, thank you.

Piglet is a bonus level just to show you what he'll be like, you don't win it. Level 10 is the last real level.

You're right about the controls, I can do it, but I need to do something so they're easy for everyone else.

Fair enough, that makes sense. It should work standalone as well, it's just a file.

I tried it, but got annoyed with the arrow keys around level 3...

Oh, thank you.

Sorry, I know. I'd like to adjust the controls, but it's going to be a big faff.
