Who ssys you can't write comic fantasy mysteries? Now if I can just stop being stalled half way through I'll write the rest of it...

Read! Enjoy!

I tried to decide how to describe this, but ran out of steam. Conscious influences are Neal Stephenson and Terry Pratchett, which gives its argument, but the modulus is obviously much less :)

Sorry it took me a while to read this - I wanted to make sure I was in the right mood.

I love that you're writing for the perspective of a rat! It made things so much clearer when you explained - I was v amused. I also think you summon up this wonderful atmosphere with your long sentences and use of esoteric vocabulary - though at the same time, this can make your fic harder to read.

Am liking so far - would definitely read more

No, thank you for reading!

In the first draft, the revelation came even later, and it was really confusing. I don't know why stepping back a character from the protagonist felt so right, I think it's that it gives me a voice to editorialize in.

The language is *so* me. It's what I enjoy doing, but I am havign to reign it back in in later chapters.
