OK, I'm up to 10 Billions cookies a second, and am running out of upgrades I can afford and am starting to get diminishing returns. Should I go ahead and buy the upgrade that says "Warning! Do not buy this upgrade! You will regret it!"?

Yes, because it's a fun storyline. Also you won't regret it.

Yes (assuming Cookie Clicker has not yet stolen your will to live).

Yes. With appropriate use of the ensuing mechanics, your overall (as opposed to nominal cookies per second) cookie production will skyrocket.

Aaand now I have a spreadsheet that tells me (for each device):
Cost of additional device
Additional cookies/second of device
Time it will take me to hit 75 billion cookies after I buy it (taking into account that I have to re-make the cookies spent on buying it).
How much less time that is than if I hadn't bought it (if there is a saving)
How much less time _per cookie spent_.

And now I _really_ want to write a program to play cookie-clicker optimally. And then have it compete against other people's cookie-clicker bots.
