Saturday: Jogging and Poohsoc AGM
Feb. 24th, 2008 01:17 pmRecommendation: Jogging
Jogging was very nice; this was the third time, but I felt able to breathe, and like I actually got a workout, I was definitely tired by the end of it. However, my leg[1] was aching a bit all day.
[1] My cycle prop leg, inconveniently.
Recommendation: Pooh Soc
Poohsoc, as always, was very funny. And the elections were all conducted with aplomb, successfully finishing the entire thing in two hours, which is very good going for any AGM.
I failed to acquire foreign secretary, so am actually temporarily off the committee, although it is good to have James on the committee. I'm trying to remember if I've ever been successful in any election for any society: almost all are not serious, but I can't remember if in all I've either been clearly the only candidate, or clearly not.
Recommendation: Rice Boat
The Rice Boat is an Indian restaurant by the Granta, Sala Thong and Mill Pond, but (apparently) actual food cooked Indian fashion as opposed to amorphous (if nice) curries. And many things are vegetarian, the starters are especially interesting.
I was about to say it was expensive, but it wasn't, it was just nice enough that we had three courses plus wine.
Recommendation: University Centre Bar
We went on after poohsoc, and the very nice man let us have hot water and then milk, gratis, for the making of tea. We bought some coffee and beer, but I mention here as this behaviour should be encouraged.
